Omega-3 fatty acid is important for health. It is an unsaturated fatty acid and considered an essential fatty acid. This nutrient cannot be manufactured in the human body and must be obtained from food.

Good sources of Omega3 are fish such as tuna, salmon, halibut. It is also contained in other seafoods such as algae and krill. There are also some plant oils with Omega-3 in them, and even the wild plant purslane has this essential oil. But not in very high quantities.

This fatty acid plays a crucial role in brain function as well as normal growtha nd development. Unfortunately as the sea is becoming more poluted, and over-fished, our source of Omega-3 oil from the sea is becoming suspect.
